The Gaels Cup is Kingston’s largest annual amateur youth sporting event, held over two consecutive weekends each July — one dedicated to Girls’ divisions and the other to Boys’. This premier soccer festival welcomes players ages 8 to 21, representing a full spectrum of competitive levels from Grassroots and Development (beginner/intermediate) to Regional and Provincial (elite/competitive).

Sanctioned by Ontario Soccer and supported by local district associations, the event serves as a key showcase for youth talent and community engagement across Eastern Ontario.

Each year, the Gaels Cup attracts an estimated 4,400 players and 10,000 visitors from across Ontario, Québec, and Northern New York State, making it a significant tourism and economic driver for the Kingston region. Teams represent a mix of local clubs, regional academies, and travel programs, with more than 270 teams competing across multiple age and skill categories on fields throughout the city.

Beyond the competition, the Gaels Cup emphasizes sportsmanship, community spirit, and player development — creating a positive and inclusive environment where young athletes, families, and fans come together to celebrate the game.
