Competitive pathway overview

The Atlético Kingston Competitive Program provides a progressive, year-round development pathway for players who want to challenge themselves, develop their game, and compete at an appropriate level.

Our program extends across the outdoor and indoor seasons, providing players with consistent access to quality coaching, purposeful training, and meaningful competition throughout the year.

A Pathway for Every Player

Atlético Kingston teams compete across multiple levels of competition. This allows players to be placed in an environment that appropriately challenges their current ability, while providing opportunities to progress as they develop.

Our competitive pathway includes:

• EISL (Eastern Integrated Soccer League) – Ontario Soccer's new standards-based integrated league replacing the former regional structure and providing an advanced pathway for players seeking higher-level competition (formerly known as the IModel - Integrated Model Hybrid Project) - Ontario Soccer only allow U14+ entry into this league.
• EOSL (Eastern Ontario Soccer League) – a higher level of District Competition providing players with an increased challenge and exposure.
• SOSA (Southeast Ontario Soccer Association League) – District competitive league play within the South Eastern Ontario Soccer Association.
• OCSL – (Ottawa Carleton Soccer League) - Senior competitive league serving Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa-Carleton region. Atlético Kingston competes in the OCSL to provide a continued high-level pathway for U19+ and adult players, including Women’s Premier, Men’s Premier, and Men’s Competitive 2 divisions.

This structure allows Atlético Kingston to provide multiple entry points and opportunities for progression, recognizing that every player's development journey is different.

The Atlético Kingston Competitive Experience

Players within our Competitive Program can expect:

• Multiple weekly training sessions during the indoor & outdoor season
• Regular league, exhibition, and tournament competition
• Fall and winter indoor training at state of the art facilities
• Alliance Sportsplex / Kingston Sports Science
• Age- and level-appropriate technical and tactical development
• Athletic development and strength & conditioning opportunities
• Goalkeeper-specific development opportunities
• Additional development through camps, clinics, and specialty programs

Training is designed through CONCACAF A & UEFA B certified Technical Director Christian Hoefler around the demands of the game. Players are regularly challenged through realistic game situations, small-sided activities, positional development, and competitive environments that encourage decision-making, creativity, and problem-solving.

As players progress through the pathway, greater emphasis is placed on individual responsibility, positional understanding, tactical detail, team principles, athletic development, and performance.

Our goal is not simply to place players on teams — it is to provide an environment where they can continue to grow and earn their next opportunity.

Players may progress between competitive levels as their ability, commitment, performance, and development allow. This provides a clear pathway while ensuring players continue to receive the appropriate level of challenge at each stage of their development.

Developing the Complete Athlete

To complement their soccer development, players also have access to our Athletic Development Program through our partnership with Performance Inspired Training.

The program supports the physical demands of competitive soccer with a focus on speed, strength, coordination, movement quality, conditioning, injury prevention, and long-term athletic development.

Together, our soccer and athletic development programs are designed to help prepare Atlético Kingston players for the next stage of their journey — wherever their ambitions may take them.
